THE FUTURE OF KEEPING YOU SECURE

Securing your doors has always been a priority for TownSteel.  But the development of new technology has made electronic locks even more secure in several ways. Manual locks have been around for centuries and provided peace of mind and security.  Now electronic locks are the next step in added security. The XCE/XME/FCE/FME Series Locks are AA battery powered standalone locks. They are unlocked when the correct access code or RFID Card is used.

There is no question that electronic door locks are the wave of the future in both commercial and residential environments.  They add a layer of security in both the mechanics of the door and limiting human error. One benefit of this technology is that it reduces the human mistake of leaving a door unlocked as electronic locks are programmed to automatically relock.

Both manual and electronic locks secure the door in the same way through the bolt. However, there is an added level of difficulty to disable and essentially ‘beat’ an electronic lock than a purely mechanical lock.

In addition, it’s easier to make a duplicate key or get your hands on the spare key for a mechanical keyed lock. It’s difficult to acquire access to an electronic door lock’s code that can be memorized or an encrypted RFID Card. It is also more of a challenge to disable an electronic lock than a mechanical lock.

TownSteel offers a complete line of standalone electronic function locks. ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 heavy duty cylindrical or mortise lockset versions are offered in both keypad and RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) technology that simplifies the management of the system and provides ease of use.

TownSteel also offers a classroom intruder lockdown version that provides a remote lockdown along with the security afforded by using a grade 1 heavy duty mortise lockset. The room remains in lockdown until a lockdown cancellation code is entered from the outside, and the lock is always able to be opened from inside to allow for a safe evacuation when necessary.
